PEERY PLAIN DEALER REPORTER 1 CHESTER TOWNSHIP Peter Maisano Jr. made everyone comfortable in his restaurants and hotels. His Cleveland Restaurant in Valley View was a favorite place for a cross section of customers, from superstar en-' tertainers. and local politicians, professionals and sports figures to police officers and the people they policed.

"He was a hard-working guy. who made you feel at home," said' Bob Bolton, an author and retired Cleveland detective. Mr. Maisano was stricken with chest pains Sunday at his home in Chester Township. He died that day at Meridia Hillcrest Hospital.

Dennis Wheeler worked at the Cleveland Workhouse for many years. He was the second-shift supervisor when he retired in 1983. He had earlier been a real estate salesman and public housing policeman. Mr. Wheeler died Wednesday at University Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

He was 81. He was born' in Montgomery, the oldest of Wheeler 16 children. He Wheeler was reared in Birmingham, where he married his first wife, Frances Hall. Mr. Wheeler worked at the Stove Co.

when he first came to Cleveland in 1937. During the 1940s, he worked as a policeman at the Carver Park Estate of the Cleveland Metropolitan Housing Authority. He formed a boys club known as the Junior Police at the housing project. Mr. Wheeler was working in the shipping department of a mattress factory when he was urged by Realtor John W.

Carmack to become a salesman. Mr. Wheeler not only sold homes, he became a broker and opened the Dennis Wheeler Realty Co. He handled hundreds of house sales in Cuyahoga County. Mr.

Wheeler was a member of the NAACP and the Lee-Harvard Community Association. He was an organizer of the East 175th Street Club. His second wife, Jessie Mae, and a son, Dennis are deceased. Mr. Wheeler is survived by a son, Marion G.

of Solon; two brothers; two sisters; five grandchildren; and numerous greatgrandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at Olivet Institutional Baptist Church, 8712 Quincy Cleveland. Arrangements are being handled by E.F. Boyd Son Funeral Home of Cleveland.

Otto O. Price, 74, owned restaurant in Willowick MENTOR Otto O. Price, a former co-owner of Judd's Restaurant in Willowick, was the confections manager at Humphrey Co. in Cleveland for the last 20 years. Mr.

Price, 74, died Monday at his home in Mentor. He had moved to Mentor from Willoughby years ago. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of Eastshore Masonic Lodge 709 of the Free Accepted Masons. Survivors include his wife, Erma; son, Donald of Mentor; daughters, Susan Fasso of Concord Township and Tammy Walch of Mentor; seven grandchildren; three brothers; and one sister.

Aldrich started working as an insurance agent for the Nationwide Insurance Co.

in Wooster in 1945, when it was a relatively small firm. He soon became manager of the company's St. Clairsville branch. The company transferred him to New Jersey and then to Indiana to set up new branch offices during Nationwidels formative years. Then Mr.

Aldrich returned to Ohio, first working in Columbus, then in Cleveland as a district sales manager. Before retiring in 1981, he worked as an independent agent in Greater Cleveland. Caroline Li He was 46. He was born Cleveland. He graduated from Benedictine High School and attended John Carroll University.

Mr. Maisano purchased the Roman Gardens restaurant in Little Italy in 1976 and operated it for several years. He opened Cleveland Min 1980. When entertainer Sammy Davis Jr. was in town for four days in 1988, he visited the restaurant twice.

On a third day, when Frank Sinatra was performing at the Coliseum in Richfield, Davis had Mr. Maisano deliver a lunch of pasta puttenesca to them. Regular diners who were friends of Mr. Maisano included Cavaliers coach Mike Fratello, who had many post-game meals there. Radio host Mike Trivisano L.

He and his wife, Joanne, took over the Mayfield Road Drive-In theater in 1969 and ran 'it as family business. In recent years, Mr. Maisano had acquired Comfort Inn hotels in Independence and downtown.

The Cleveland hotel is in the former Keg and Quarter Hotel at E. 18th St. and Euclid where Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Bob Marley and other top entertainers stayed in the 1970s. Krueger logged more than 1,000 volunteer hours with the Salvation Army in Lorain. Her volunteer service was primarily, with the Keen-agers, a senior citizens group, and one of her favorite duties was helping to teach ceramics. Mrs. Krueger, 73, of Amherst, died Sunday at Amherst Hospital. She was born and had lived most of her life in Lorain.

She also had lived in Avon for eight years before moving to Amherst 12 years ago. Quilting was one of her hobbies. Mrs. Krueger was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. in Lorain.

Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Ronald; daughter, Carol Kodysz of Avon; sons, Carl of Wakeman and Paul of Amherst; four grandchildren; two brothers; and two sisters. He was born Aug. 22, 1914, In Toledo, to Joseph and Stephante (CIchewicz) Zukowski. Survivors are a brother Joseph Zaner, Madison MI, and six nieces and nephews. Deceased Is a brother. He began studying for the priesthood at St.

Mary Preparatory School, Burkettsville, moved to St. Joseph's College, Rensselaer, IN. He became a member of the Society of the Precious Blood Dec. 8, 1934 then studled at St. Charles Seminary.

He was ordained a Roman Catholic priest on March 8, 1942. He fulfilled assignments In Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan and Florlda. He was pastor of Churches In Dayton, Columbus and at St. Paul Catholic Church, Sharpsburg. In 1991 he retired to the local seminary.

Cook, 63, worked as G.Q. Drywall supervisor WILLOUGHBY Glen B. Cook retired in 1993 as a superintendent for G.Q. Drywall in Wickliffe, where he had worked for 15 years. Mr.

Cook, 63, died Monday at Hospice House of Cleveland. He had cancer. He was a member of Carpenters' Union Local 95 of Cleveland for 45 years. Mr. Cook was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Willoughby and a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Wickliffe Council 5405.

He was a former member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 86 in Cleveland and a current member of the Ridge Acres Civic Association. He served in the Army in the Korean War. Born in Cleveland, Mr. Cook had lived in Lake County for 40 years. Survivors include his wife, Audrey; sons, Glen B.

Katheryn Klaar Edmonds, 92, teacher in Lakewood CHARDON Katheryn Klaar Edmonds taught fifth grade at Madison School in Lakewood for 11 years after the death of her first husband, John A. Klaar, in 1952.

She developed a reputation as the lead teacher of the "new math." She was a graduate of Kent State University. Mrs. Edmonds, 92, died Friday at Geauga Regional Hospital in Claridon Township. She had suffered a stroke and heart attack that day. In 1963, she married Crawford C.

Edmonds, a retired Lakewood Buick dealer she had met on a round-the-world trip. For the next 25 years, they lived in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. a year after her hus4 band died, she completed an extensive tour of China with her daughter, Sally. She loved to travel and had circled the world three times. In 1994, she moved back to Ohio and settled in Chardon near another daughter, Susan Klaar.

In addition, Mrs. Edmonds is survived by daughter Sally Ebling of Rocky River; one granddaughter; and two great-great grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Pilgrim Christian Church, 202 S. Hambden Chardon.

She became a certi? fied Braille transcriber and offered her services to the land Society for the Blind. During her 35 years at the task, she transcribed more than, 340,000 pages of material, including business forms, restaurant, menus and textbooks for high, school and college students in French, Spanish and Russian. In 1990, she was named the Volunteer of the Year by the Association for Education and habilitation of the Blind and ally Impaired of Ohio.

Mrs. Skall died yesterday at her home in Beachwood. She was 82. 4 She was born in Philadelphia and had moved to Cleveland after, she married her husband, Arthur, in the 1930s. She helped with the inception of the Red Cross blood" donor program.

She became active with the Red Cross Braille transcription service. Mrs. Skall had been a member, of board of trustees of the Cleve; land Sight Center since 1986. Her husband and a son, Kenneth, are deceased. Mrs.

Skall is survived by a son, Richard of Pepper Pike; three grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren.
